WORLD / ZONES

Zones in WoW Forever

Every named new zone, the Skyborne start, the Riverglades quest band, and the unresolved three-versus-four count.

STATUS / FIRST-PARTY NAMES

Four places are named, but Blizzard’s announcements use two different totals.

The panel recap names Zephras Isle, Riverglades, Shen’drAlas, and Mount Hyjal. The opening ceremony article says three new zones. No first-party source explains whether one is an expanded area or whether the wording changed.

QUICK REFERENCE

The short version

NAMED

Four zones

Zephras Isle, Riverglades, Shen’drAlas, and Mount Hyjal appear in the panel recap.

SKYBORNE

Levels 1–12

Zephras Isle is the new race’s starting experience.

MID GAME

Riverglades

The recap places more than 150 new quests in the mid-30s to mid-40s.

COUNT CONFLICT

Three versus four

Both claims are first-party and remain unresolved.

ZONE NOTES

What each named location contributes

The panel gives names and a few anchors, not a finished atlas.

Zephras Isle

An elemental, skybound starting experience for Skyborne characters from level 1 through 12.

Riverglades

A river-and-trade-route region in the mid-30s to mid-40s with more than 150 new quests.

Shen’drAlas and Mount Hyjal

Shen’drAlas sits between Mulgore and Desolace and links to existing dungeons; Mount Hyjal follows Archimonde’s defeat and includes Darkwhisper Gorge.

WORLD RULES

What is still missing

A zone name does not yet tell a player how to route through it.

Expanded original zones

Blizzard confirms expanded original zones but does not name the affected areas.

No complete quest list

The total and Riverglades count are published, but not a full quest or zone list.

Darkspear Islands is not a zone

It is a battleground location, included in some announcement groupings but not a leveling zone.

  • Level ranges for Shen’drAlas and Mount Hyjal are not announced.
  • The guide uses Riverglades and Zephras Isle, the spellings in Blizzard’s sources; community variants are secondary.
  • The Deep Dive panel is the next likely source for world-system and zone detail.

SOURCE TRAIL

Where these notes came from

We use official material first, then identify community reports and tools separately. A source link is a trail back to the evidence, not an endorsement of every claim on that page.
