Professions in WoW Forever

What Blizzard has confirmed about the profession revamp, what the trailer shows, and why there is still no official profession list.

STATUS / CONFIRMED DIRECTION

Professions are being revamped; the roster and mechanics are still unpublished.

Blizzard’s product page lists a professions revamp, and the gameplay trailer shows a New Professions Content card. The exact profession list, talent systems, recipes, caps, and character limits remain open.

QUICK REFERENCE

The short version

REVAMP

Confirmed

Blizzard lists professions among the broad gameplay overhauls.

TRAILER CARD

New Professions Content

Visible in the official gameplay trailer.

PROFESSION LIST

Not announced

No checked first-party page names a complete roster.

TALENT TREES

Unverified

The claim is currently community-reported, not first-party.

CONFIRMED

What is safe to say

The evidence supports a meaningful change without supporting every mechanic rumor.

A real professions revamp

The Battle.net product page explicitly includes professions in its list of Forever feature changes.

New profession content

The official gameplay trailer displays a card for new professions content. That confirms new material, not a specific recipe or profession.

More details are scheduled

The Forever Deep Dive panel description names professions as a topic, while the roadmap places professions and Legacy updates in Summer 2027.

NOT YET VERIFIED

What the guide will not turn into fact

A familiar Classic baseline is useful for planning, but it is not a Forever roster announcement.

Working Classic baseline

Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Herbalism, Leatherworking, Mining, Skinning, Tailoring, plus Cooking, First Aid, and Fishing are the historical reference set.

Talent-tree claim

A community roundup reports profession talent trees, skill-up chances, resource discovery, and extra elemental essence. Those details remain unverified until Blizzard or the beta confirms them.

Later-era names

Inscription, Jewelcrafting, and other later additions should not be presented as Forever professions until an official list or in-game evidence appears.

  • Exact profession names and whether anything is added, removed, merged, or renamed.
  • Primary and secondary profession limits, caps, trainers, recipes, gathering rules, and crafting stations.
  • Whether modern systems such as quality ranks, orders, recrafting, concentration, or knowledge schedules exist.

PLAYER PLANNING

How to prepare without overcommitting

Choose around the material loop you enjoy, then re-evaluate when the beta exposes the real trees and recipes.

Gathering is flexible

Herbalism, Mining, or Skinning can provide a self-directed material and income loop while the craft economy is still unknown.

Crafting needs evidence

Do not choose a crafting profession from a modern retail tier list. The value of each craft depends on Forever’s actual recipes, caps, and demand.

Camping may connect the systems

Blizzard says visitors can contribute through professions at outdoor campfires. Which professions contribute and what they provide are not published.

SOURCE TRAIL

Where these notes came from

We use official material first, then identify community reports and tools separately. A source link is a trail back to the evidence, not an endorsement of every claim on that page.
